Trip overview

The journey

Mardi Himal is the Annapurna region's best-kept secret: a ridge-line trail that climbs through mossy cloud forest onto open alpine crest, ending at a high viewpoint directly beneath the sheer south face of Machapuchare. Five days, modest logistics, and mountain views out of all proportion to the effort — the definition of a hidden gem.

Trip highlights

  • Machapuchare — the fishtail — at astonishing close range
  • Ridge-line walking above the clouds
  • High Camp sunrise (3,580 m)
  • Viewpoint push towards Mardi Base Camp (4,500 m)
  • Mossy rhododendron cloud forest
  • Quiet trails and small, friendly lodges

Ama Dablam Base Camp Trek with Heli Return

This is a scenic and relatively short trek in the Everest (Khumbu) region that takes you to the base of one of the most beautiful mountains in the world — Ama Dablam (6,812 m). Adding a helicopter return eliminates the long walk back, saves time and energy, and offers spectacular aerial views of the Himalayas.
