Trip overview

The journey

The Manaslu Circuit is what trekkers mean when they ask for 'the Annapurna thirty years ago': a complete circuit of the world's eighth-highest mountain through the deep gorge of the Budhi Gandaki, Tibetan-influenced villages like Samagaon and Samdo, and over the prayer-flagged crest of Larkya La at 5,106 m. Restricted-area rules keep numbers low — you trek with a licensed guide in a group of at least two.

Trip highlights

  • Cross Larkya La (5,106 m)
  • Manaslu's east face from Samagaon
  • Tibetan Buddhist villages of the upper valley
  • Budhi Gandaki gorge — days of dramatic river country
  • Side hike to Manaslu Base Camp or Pungyen Gompa
  • A fraction of the Annapurna's foot traffic

Ama Dablam Base Camp Trek with Heli Return

This is a scenic and relatively short trek in the Everest (Khumbu) region that takes you to the base of one of the most beautiful mountains in the world — Ama Dablam (6,812 m). Adding a helicopter return eliminates the long walk back, saves time and energy, and offers spectacular aerial views of the Himalayas.
