Rhino country — jeep, canoe and jungle dawn

3 daysEasyAny size; private by defaultPrivate CustomizedFrom US$ 390 pp

Trip overview

The journey

Chitwan was Nepal's first national park and remains its best wildlife experience: riverine grassland and sal forest holding one-horned rhinoceros, gharial crocodiles, wild elephants, and — for the lucky — the Bengal tiger. Days move between jeep safaris, a dugout canoe drift past basking gharials, and village walks in Tharu country; evenings end with dance by the fire.

Trip highlights

  • Jeep safari in rhino territory
  • Dugout canoe drift past gharial crocodiles
  • Dawn birdwatching walk — 500+ species recorded
  • Tharu village and cultural evening
  • Elephant bathing at the river (observation only)

Ama Dablam Base Camp Trek with Heli Return

This is a scenic and relatively short trek in the Everest (Khumbu) region that takes you to the base of one of the most beautiful mountains in the world — Ama Dablam (6,812 m). Adding a helicopter return eliminates the long walk back, saves time and energy, and offers spectacular aerial views of the Himalayas.
